Heroes

Some arrived Earth in the days of servitude
When times were hard with bad attitude
They had to struggle with rice and beans
And endure the days of famine

Some came in the days of imperialism
And the fight for their imagery and materialism
They canvassed with the few for it
They died like Dedan Kimathi

Others fought against racism
They gave years to pursue their 'ideolism' (sic)
The self consciousness that color doesn't warrant discrimination
Nelson Mandela is one among many in such nations

The breakfast of a champion is struggle some say
But his foresight is better days
The issue is have you found a real reason to fight
